The semi final game finished on a scoreline of 0-08 to 0-06.[4] James won the 2011 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship with Dublin at a packed Croke Park. The game finished on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11.[5] He received a nomination for GAA GPA Young Player of the Year for his defensive performances in 2011 with Dublin and oddly didn't receive a nomination for an all-star.
